MUSKOKA VILLA

Set in the Muskoka region of Ontario, this renovation proposal reimagines an existing lake house as a contemporary retreat closely connected to the water, the forest and the dramatic rocky terrain.

The architecture is shaped by broad horizontal planes and carefully framed views. Generous openings draw daylight deep into the residence, while terraces extend daily life toward the lake without competing with the natural setting.

The proposal seeks the serenity of life at the water's edge. Open spaces, natural light and materials selected for their dialogue with the surroundings create a calm transition between interior and exterior.

Rather than treating the rugged site as a limitation, the design uses its slope, mature trees and panoramic lake views to define the experience of the house throughout the seasons.
